Rustenburg Girls’ Junior School, in partnership with Schoolscape and the Western Cape Education Department, presented the

Creative Arts

Conference

Reflect Restore Recharge Create In The Creative Arts Classroom

Virtual: 9 & 10 September 2022

What the event was about

Building on the success of the event in 2021, this 2-day virtual event provided space to reflect, restore and recharge how to teach creative arts (music; art; design; dance; drama) in your school so that every child will have a passion for the arts.

“Too often arts education is marginalised in schools. An education without the arts is inadequate, given the dramatic ways it changes students’ lives academically and personally. It is key to preparing them for success in a complex 21st century world”
Hendrik Marais, Rustenburg Girls’ Junior School.

The two days included keynote speakers, workshops, masterclasses, exhibitions and so much more to invigorate creative arts teaching in your school and classroom. Join the heartbeat of Creative Arts education in South Africa as ‘the beat goes on’.

Who this event was for

The conference and workshops were designed to provide a fresh and exciting approach to teaching the arts (music; art; design; dance; drama) for those responsible for teaching any of the Creative Arts components.
